You can build your own boat, and we're here to help with kits, materials, and advice.
Pardon my dust as I make some changes to help you sort through the more than two dozen boat designs available. We are dedicated to helping the small boat builder get it right the first time and the experienced builder have a dependable place for materials, advice, and friends. Check out the forum link for a great social site of fellow boat builders. Below is a quick link to the three major design groups of small boats that we offer.
Custom and Historical Designs
Our friend, Roger Fletcher has worked years to capture the lines from important boats in the history of the McKenzie River. These boats can be found in his book Drift Boats and River Dories. With Roger's permission we offer kits for three of these most historical boats or, if you are thinking of a custom change we can help you adapt a known boat design to exactly what you have in mind.
Dersham Designs
Long boats, wide boats, high sided boats to keep the big water out, and low sided boats to reduce wind drag. If you are unsure of the style and size that is perfect for the water that you fish the most often then just give us a call. We can walk you through the maze of decisions to help you land on the boat that is just right for you.
Tatman Designs
Tatman designs started with a traditional 48 inch bottom. Greg was one of the first to expand the bottom width of wooden boats while maintaining the asymmetrical bottom shape of the early designs. What you end up with is a great performing white water design that loves to be loaded weight forward and can handle super sized clients.
