This boat is a custom commission from a team of people that plan to run the Kootenai River from Alberta, Canada to Astoria, Oregon

The project here is to carry four people and a week of gear across river water and large lakes. This boat displaces 1500lbs with seven inches of draft. It is big enough to deck as a Grand Canyon dory and still a managable size for the upper portions of the Kootenai River. I've purposely kept the bottom a bit narrow for the size so the boat is fast on the water and can be rowed against the strong winds of the Columbia river gourge. If they need to get moving against tough wind the back seat is set up as a rowing station so two people can put their backs into it.

This boat is the standard for plus sized quests making it very popular among guides that run big water and have room among the rocks for a bigger boat. It's shown here with a custom deck. That is now a shop option.

The 17 1/2-foot wide bottom (54") drift boat has become quite popular. It was designed for ease of operation under the heavier loading conditions found in typical guide applications. Though the boat weighs slightly over 300 lb., its large bottom area allows it to be one of our highest floating boats. This quality is very useful for carrying that fourth person. The smooth easy lines of its hull and the boat's longer hull length also gives it superior holding and tracking ability. Many experienced guides tell us that this boat is the best rowing boat they have ever rowed. (Rowing a boat full of fishing clients all day every day would make an oarsman appreciate its finer handling qualities.) Some customers report such good holding characteristics as "almost needing to row the boat down river". If you decide to row this boat, we recommend 9' oars.

This 17x52 is our low side wide bottom boat for a guide and two casters. It is perfect for wide windy water with up to class II rapids.

Boats that need to stay out of the wind have become very popular and this boat does that with style. It has a wide stable bottom at 52 inches but not so wide that the boat becomes hard to row. Plenty of room for a casting angler in front of and behind the rower. The rower's seat moves forward for two guests or back for when rowing with only one other person in the boat. In this photo the boat is shown with an optional high knee brace on the fly deck, a pedestal seat upgrade for the rear seat, a read knee board, and two deluxe Tempress seats.

This is the fastest boat we make. It has an inline design with a symmetrical bottom so one angler can fish from front and another from back.

This boat is a convertible. The low sides and symmetrical bottom make it perfect for high wind conditions and an angler in front and in back. But don't be fooled, the raised bow will take up to class three water and the rowers seat will slide back to the rear more traditional position while the two customers ride up front to bust through the big stuff. This is a versatile boat that is perfect for two in all but the biggest water and fishes three when you're pounding hoppers on the bank.

This boat is made of AB Marine Fir that has been stained. While 1/4in. marine fir is difficult to get in high quality we have some of the finest available in stock.

This is the original size made popular in the 1940's and proven over time. It's the most boat for your money and a piece of history. The sixteen footer will easily handle three people and is used throughout the Northwest by guides that are working "skinny" water where the rocks don't leave you much room to maneuver. 8.5ft oars are the right choice for this boat.

The boat above is made from BS 1088 Meranti plywood with a Bristol polyurathane exterior and oiled interior.

The 15.5 ft McKenzie Duo has a 48 inch bottom and a lot of attitude. The rocker on this boat is almost the same as the original 14ft double-ender yet there is room for an occasional third person. This is the perfect day boat for trips with your fishing buddy in water up to Class III. It can also be used as an individual boat for extreme water if you place the seat in the center and deck the entire boat. If you decide to row this boat, we recommend 8.5' oars.

This is my favorite boat. It is just a little smaller than most but I like the high sides and the way it feels balanced in the water. I'm on the cautious side and this boat helps me feel safe.
